Carioca Passions – Maracanã, Carnival Experience, and Largo dos Guimarães

This tour is dedicated to the passions of the Cariocas (Rio locals). We begin at the Maracanã—the “Temple of Football” and once the world’s largest stadium—with an interior tour rich in history and memorabilia. Next, we visit Cidade do Samba (Samba City) for an authentic Carnival experience: you will go behind the scenes to see the massive parade floats, witness the community’s involvement and the work of professional dancers, and even take a short samba lesson. To wrap up this day filled with Carioca passion, we visit Santa Teresa. There, you can relax at a nice restaurant (with several options available), sample local snacks representing Brazilian cuisine along with regional beers or a famous caipirinha accompanied by live music. You will also have free time to shop for souvenirs—such as handicrafts and canvas paintings by local artists—or clothing in this unique, bohemian neighborhood.
